On top of this Trump said he is going to make the Mexican leaders pay for this wall and that he is going to make sure that people only get into this country legally. Trump even went as far as saying that the Mexican Leaders are 'sharper' than our American leaders. Trump says the wall will keep out the "rapist, and crime comitters" that mexico currently "sends" to the United States.
I find it amusing that Trump's border control policy is an almost perfect recreation of the Obama administration's secretive border control policy. Earlier this month, purely through investigative reporting and whistle blowing, we learned that millions of dollars in tax revenue are going to the Mexican government to stop refugees and immigrants from even reaching our border. This money has fueled actions such as Mexican policing officials declaring "open season" on train riding immigrants resulting in rapes and robberies in an effort to stymie the flow of immigrants. Even more troubling is the process in which these refugees then have to endure to enter our government legitimately. There are countless reports that they are held in prison cells and fed rotting food for upwards of a half a year during the LEGAL process for entering our borders. The illegal process simply results in their death or jailing. This wall idea of Trump's is no better and as a country comprised of the descendants of immigrants we should be ashamed that we are paying to propagate this much pain.
ReplyDeleteI am relieved that Trump is no longer first in the polls, although I am not a fan of Carson. The fact that Trump can draw plans and conclusions from such sweeping generalizations would make me laugh I he wasn't a serious candidate for the President of the U.S.
ReplyDeleteWow he has extremely strong views. I wonder how exactly he thinks this plan will work out, or if it will work out at all. He definitely will get criticized for this.
ReplyDeleteI like to think that Donald Trump is just a kid that likes to think big, but all of his ideas are completely insane since he is a kid. I'd like to see him make mexico pay for a wall without militarity force.
