Donald Trump Wants To Fire The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

Donald Trump introduces one of his new ideas about defensive policies. He mentions how he wants to get rid and fire the F-35 because during one of the test flights it turned into poor outcome;  he does not want our society to waste any more money, billions he says, on these little things and that "our existing planes are better." However, he also mentions that he wants to have the strongest and best military every during his presidency,  so people are unsure of what Trump really wants and unsure if his decisions are really thought through clearly. As the presidential campaign continues, we see more and more of Trump and figure out his personality and actions.

For the first time Donald Trump is not  leading in first place in the polls

Carson and Trump have been running consistently neck-and-neck since the start of September -- with other candidates struggling to keep pace. However Donald Trump has been the number one in the polls for the republican party since June. Two polls released Thursday and Friday showed Trump slipping to second place in Iowa with 20% and 19% of support, respectively, while Carson surged to first place with 28% in both polls. Carson won the support of 26% of Republican primary voters, compared to 22% who are backing Trump, according to CBS news/ New York Times. Though within the poll's margin of error, it marks the first time since the billionaire businessman's dominant rise over the summer where he has been bumped from the top spot nationally.

Trump vows to make Mexico pay for "Great Wall"

Donald trump said tonight in the GOP presidential debate that:

 "We're going to do a wall; we're going to have a big, fat beautiful door on the wall; we're going to have people come in, but they're going to come in legally." 

On top of this Trump said he is going to make the Mexican leaders pay for this wall and that he is going to make sure that people only get into this country legally. Trump even went as far as saying that the Mexican Leaders are 'sharper' than our American leaders. Trump says the wall will keep out the "rapist, and crime comitters" that mexico currently "sends" to the United States.

Week 5: Donald Trump Reporting

Newsworthy Moment:

Trump no longer stands atop the national rankings among GOP presidential contenders. According to a CBS News/New York Times poll, Carson holds the support of 26% of GOP voters, compared to Trump who now sits at 22%. While the 4-point difference is between the poll's margin of error, for the first time in nearly 5 months Trump sits at second place in the Republican field while Ben Carson continues to surge. In other news, the Republican field prepares for tomorrow's debate. The debate will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder, and will be televised on CNBC starting at 5pm PT. Trump will have to rile up voters watching at home if he wants to regain some ground in the national poll, and as Trump currently stands in 2nd place, his performance in tomorrow's debate will play a big role in the race for the GOP nomination.

Fundraising:

No news regarding fundraising this week. Trump continues to claim that he's turning down millions of dollars for his quote "self-funded campaign". "Everybody's offering me money, and I don't want it". Trump said this at a dinner in Massachusetts back in August.

Positions:

No new headline positions from Trump this week. However, since this report is being published on Tuesday, and it's still early in the week, the Trump Team will post any breaking news regarding Trump and any new, loud positions up until Friday night. This being said, Trump may offer a new position in order to seek approval during tomorrow night's debate, but that's just speculation.

Challenges this Week:

Trump faces two daunting challenges this week. One, impressing voters during tomorrow night's debate, and two, gaining approval these next few days in order to make up ground on the national GOP level. It'll be interesting to see next week's poll results. Will nothing change? Will Carson extend his new found lead, or will Trump gain back ground? We'll have to wait and see what happens next, starting with tomorrow night's Republican debate.

Aversion to Fundraising, Donald Trump Still Rakes in Millions

As the election continues to progress on, one of the main topics that is very high in the elections is towards the strengths and weaknesses of the fundraising in a presidential campaign. Donald Trump is a very wealthy man, but it is seen that he does not contribute to donation as much as the other presidential candidates but instead uses his own money for his own benefits and self-funding himself in this campaign. Yes he is intelligent in using his money to his own benefits but I believe the weakness in him is that people are wanting to see more donations from him because of his wealth.

Super PAC supporting Trump shuts down

A super PAC with ties to Donald Trump's presidential campaign is shutting down in an effort to put an end to building questions about the closeness of the two operations. The "Make America Great Again" super PAC, which had been collecting donations to support Trump's presidential candidacy, will stop its fundraising activity, according to Mike Ciletti, who formed the group in Colorado in July. 

Ciletti mentioned, "the focus should be on the issues and candidates." He added, "People are making an issue out of me knowing people on the Trump campaign as somehow that is newsworthy." "Personally I support Mr. Trump, otherwise I would not have started the super PAC." However, to honor Mr. Trump's wishes, Ciletti states, "I am closing my super PAC and will wait for the primary to reach Colorado to have an impact on the race." 

Mr. Trump routinely says that he is funding his own race, and that while people are offering him “millions,” he doesn’t want to accept it. In addition to Trump's disavowel, he asked all donations made to them be returned to the donors, and he called on all of the candidates to do the same thing and disavow their super PACs.

Week 4: Donald Trump Reporting

Headlines:

• A tweet mocking Iowans was re-tweeted from the Trump twitter page (try saying that three times fast). Speculation suggests that one of Donald's campaign advisors re-tweeted the tweet, but others claim that Donald Trump's twitter account could have been hacked. Either way, Carson now leads Trump in the polls in the state of Iowa.

• As mentioned earlier, Carson now leads Trump in the polls in Iowa. However, Trump still seems to hold a strong lead across the GOP-voting nation.

As usual, little news regarding Trump's fundraising as he, or at least he says, is funding his own campaign. Very little new positions offered as well, but I found this interview on CNBC interesting. Trump is very confident going into this election, as he's comparing himself to "Superman".
